T. he H.ate U.G.ive (T.H.U.G)

The Hate U Give REVIEW The meaning: T.H.U.G. I was brought back when I found out what it stood for. It got deep when I found out who more or less gave that meaning ; TuPac a legend where he’s music legacy is clear as day. I watched this movie for the first time in November with my friend. The movie was so detailed on the ins and outs of what a brown-skinned family would face because of the colour of their skin in America.   You can tell this movie was created to make us embrace Starr (main character) - to feel the pain of Starr’s family as if it were our own, to feel the pain Starr felt when her friend Khalil died and then suddenly later on she realised her other best friend passed away when they were younger in a drive-by shooting! There was a lot of back and forth that as an audience you would only get towards the end.  This movie was so deep that it made us have more clarity of the ignorance and softened hate we go through by society. The hate could ev...

STAYING DOWN IN 2017 - 5MonthsIN!

Image
***I wrote this post around January 2017 when I was facing my biggest challenges*** I've noticed one thing is that I expect too much perfection and for everything to be done in one go! This is when things go wrong because it ends up being a confusing situation and then you end up taking it out on other people..This has basically been the start of 2017 for me. I know most people seem to make their new year start on a high! But I don't think I was mentally prepared for 2017 and I allowed that overwhelming feeling to get to me by thinking "I'm staying down in 2017". I seriously couldn't believe I felt like this.. Its a new year! What is there that I can't do that I didn't do in 2016 - so much was achieved, I kept myself productive and had so much fun! I spoke to friends that I trust, that I knew I could let them know how I was feeling because they had been there before. Even though I felt bad expressing all of  it by just always speaking out -...

Thinking that you have everything   well organised for a trip and finding out you missed a few things out can be frustrating . This can be so many of us when planning for the perfect holiday, and I know my plan wasn't on point when I traveled to New York but this time I was determined to do so for my next long-haul holiday. I realised there were so many things to remember... So I had to share (in no particular order) 12 tips, treats and tricks with you that can make your next trip away stress-free! 1.  When packing clothes, instead of folding, ROLL your clothes, you'll be surprised as to how much space you still have left compared to when folding clothes. 2. Pack for the amount of days you're staying  - You don't want your suitcase to be filled up and not have enough room for your presents and extra buys. 3. Check the weather forecast for the duration of your stay- Its good to know what type of weather you're packing for. Trust...

Travel Essence; WHAT TO DO IN DUBAI FOR EIGHT DAYS- Day. 2

2  - DUBAI MUSEUM  This is the perfect place to visit as a family where you can understand the Dubai today vs ancient Dubai. The Dubai Museum is certainly a place that brings to life what is of the past as it was built in the Al Fahidi Fort in 1787 which was known to be one of the oldest buildings in Dubai.  The fact that Dubai was just a desert land, went through its hardships with the kings and today is known for its buildings and lavish lifestyle and culture; it is represented beautifully at the Museum. I would say visiting in November while celebrating their 45th Anniversary was definitely the perfect trip!  The culture of Dubai is not just made up of sky scrapers and their ultimate lavish lifestyle;  but all of this was developed from the success of  Dubai's oil, pearl and sea trade and the trade continues to flourish today. As mentioned before the Dubai Museum brings the Ancient Dubai to life- you understand their traditional way of life, th...

3 - DUBAI MALL & DUBAI FOUNTAINS  Photo Credit: Bayut  Hope you're all  enjoying the iteniary for eight days in Dubai. I can't wait to hear your experiences in this beautiful city! Don't forget to leave a comment on what else I should have done while in Dubai. :) To get to the Dubai Mall, we took the Dubai Metro from JBR to the Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall Station. It's a lovely journey on the train with the views of the city.  The Dubai Mall is known to be the largest mall in the world. If you wanted to walk around the whole mall in one day.. it wouldn't even be possible that's how massive it is and there's so much to do in the mall! But one thing I can say it is a beautiful architecture from inside out. It includes over 1,200 retail shops, attracting 54 million visitors every year. My family and I are definitely one of the millions who had visited this amazing attraction.  I feel like we had an enjoyable shopping experience but there was a lot of walking...
