MEDIA ANTICS...WHY IS IT NOT WORKING OUT!??

Image
Hey!! I know what you're probably all thinking.... 'Where's the New York vlog Yetunde said she was going to upload on Sunday!??' I'm telling you now, my technical love has been on point and I even edited the vlogs on Windows Movie Maker (for the meantime) but my laptop's trying to tell me something else mate! :(  :(. I need to upgrade on quite a few things and right about now its not easy! It may seem like I can give you all the excuses in the world but there would be no point! I just wanna show you what I love to do by sharing my recommendations, places to go and loads more! It would be great if this process was faster for my media growth but nothing comes easy! There's going to be alot of challenges and who know's how long it will take...We'll see! But for now even though it hasn't been long since the #iCan'tBUTICan challenge creating my blog and Youtube channel I'll keep trying and I'm so happy I know the little that has been

Travel Essence ; Let's hear it for New York!

Image
I feel so upset at the fact that I couldn't upload my daily vlogs and do my blog update each day  while in New York because I know that expressing and uploading it over a month later doesn't have the same feeling of uploading them on the exact days if you know what I mean? Everytime I look at the photos and the videos I'm nostalgic. I just wanna go back to New York and relive each moment! That's where great memories are and I know that there are so many more things I want to do when I go back! This is why I'm sharing most if not all the things I was able to see and do with you!  Okay, enough of my sob story lol.. New York is nothing without its breathtaking views, landscapes and buildings and in this Travel Essence NYC Series I would love to share with you the places, attractions and views we saw! The word I could only express when staying in New York was that every place we stepped foot was 'amazing'  (in my vlogs) lol. I genuinely couldn't find o

Back to life... Back to reality

Well, it definitely feels weird but good to be back onto the blogging scene - I missed it! A few things happened in between and it seems like writing was held back however, I got up to so many things - meeting new people, events, travelling and now back to education and I can't wait to let you know about it! Anyway...having time away; London Love set off to New York in September - yaaas!! NEW YORK 'The City that Never Sleeps' with my university... And let me tell you something; this is the place to be! All I could think of was all the shows and movies I have watched set in America like 'Love and Hip Hop', 'Basketball Wives' ,  'Daddy's Little Girls' and so much more and everywhere I went I really felt like I was in a movie lol! (Check out the shows/movie(s) I listed too) =] While in New York I did a lot of vlogging and took so many photos which I would love to upload on Youtube and even on here but because of technical difficulties; I haven&

Travel Essence - HOW TO SPEND EIGHT DAYS IN NEW YORK - Day 1

Image
As some of you know I had the opportunity to Go Global with my university in September and we had the time of our lives! The ultimate goal while staying in New York was to make each day count even though at one point my body couldn't take it and just wanted to crash! There's so much to see and do here and I'm sure not even one month is enough to do everything. So please take time to indulge on how to spend eight quality days in New York City from me to you! Day 1  A beautiful view of Lower Manhattan The first day we arrived in New York I'm not quite sure of the time but from JFK airport to Downtown Brooklyn it was an interesting ride seeing all the projects and school buses passing us by. It felt like I was in the movies I always watch. From the moment we checked in before we knew it we were heading out for dinner along the pier. It was a long but lovely walk from Brooklyn to Pier 6. I would definitely recommend a walk when heading down to the Pier

I apologise for my lack of consistency on my blog. Sometimes you have to be selfish (IN A GOOD WAY) as I have learnt in order to get to where you want to be. The picture above has inspired me to keep working on who I am and what I have to do. Sometimes you should take a break, think and then DO! Don't rush. In its time. Stay posted x                   #iCan'tBUTICan

EMBRACE CULTURE

"Who says I can't be ayy?" Well well well, there might be a little bit of controversy with this topic. I was born in England, London. However, my parents are Nigerian and I very much just say I am Nigerian. People still question this part of my life a lot and I'm sure many others who have the same situation; being born in a particular country but parents are from so and so country are told that "technically" they are from the country they were born in. And yes that's true, but it's not that deep when you get people who start analyzing the situation from top to bottom! For me, it still makes me Nigerian. HOWEVER, THE SHAME OF IT ALL..............I have NEVER been to Nigeria before. I'm 20, I have traveled to other countries but not Nigeria. You might be thinking 'what the hell, like seriously how can you not go to your own country?" Its not about not being able to go - Its just being able to go at the right time and knowing tha

HEALTHY LIVING WITH KELLY APPIAH

Kelly's Health and Fitness  (Special Feature) http://kellyshealthfit.blogspot.co.uk/?m=0 LAST SUMMER >> MARCH Its always good to see people taking up a challenge. It can bring out the best in you and prove to yourself and others that nothing is impossible! The 'I Can't BUT I Can' Journey has helped me to see things in a different perspective and understand that we all go through our 'I Can't' moments; but once we put our mind to anything who/what can stop us from achieving our goals!? Kelly is one of my unique university friends who took up an immense challenge of living a healthy lifestyle. I was completely shocked when I saw the results because they were amazing!  So I asked her how she did it.... -What triggered you to go on a healthy lifestyle? " I was at my heaviest weight at 80 kilos,176 lbs and I knew that I wasn’t healthy. I also reached a point in my life where I felt lonely and just not happy with myself. I d

"You guys wanna embarrass me don't you?" MALLORCA, 2014 LMAO! I definitely have to leave you with the kinda craziest time of my life where I wanted to finally prove to myself that if I just sing in front of people then I will be able to do anything! I found out about a local competition happening and so I went for the audition but unfortunately for me it didn't go as planned. I flopped throughout the whole thing and ended up getting upset with myself thinking 'how can I travel all the way from where I live to embarrass myself like this?" I even thought the judges laughed at me while auditioning (couldn't blame them really). As days went on I had it in mind I would definitely not be called back for the show; but they did.  When the day finally came to do some rehearsals and minor vocal lessons, thoughts were telling me they just want to embarrass me and just have a funny act to put on the show in order for it to be lively LOL! So I decided t

Natural Hair Journey Start Date: 2nd July 2014 (Nearly a year =]) When it comes to a challenge, obviously you have to be prepared for it and my challenge last year July 2014 was trying to maintain my damaged hair which obviously couldn't be done! So I did my research and made sure I was going to follow up on steps to look after my hair properly which included: 1. Doing 'THE BIG CHOP' (cut my hair to a low level) 2. Letting my hair breathe after I take out weaves/extensions. 3. Protective hairstyles e.g. Cornrows, Full fringe weave, braids, closures, wigs* (max. leaving hairstyles in for a month.  *Wigs can be taken off before bed.  4. Making sure my scalp is being washed and dried with a t-shirt (learnt that from ijeomauna's Youtube channel 'TWA Wash Day (3 Months post Big Chop) 5. Sleeping with a silk head scarf preferably because its not too harsh on the hair . .BIG CHOP. CURRENT LENGTH *I dyed my hair due to the fact tha

BEING YOUNIQUE ; Yetunde x

Image
Hey! My name's Yetunde; pronounced "Ye-tun-day". I am Nigerian as my name is representing, a 20 year old student from London City who is set to get out of her comfort zone wherever I step my foot. It does take time and it is always a learning process. The I Can't BUT I Can Journey was an inspiration from Shameless Maya who challenged herself to do what she loved regardless of limitations and just stand out from the crowd; which definitely benefited her and others a lot. My journey is to share my interests and the love for the things I (think) I can't do but go ahead and do them anyway..  A few examples of my 'I Can't' moments: Creating a blog Challenge myself to a natural hair journey Creating a Youtube Channel I can do it and I have done it & so can you! Feel free to follow me on social media, share your views and comments and for sure I will keep you updated on many more! And why not challenge yourself in doing things that you
