A girl can dream...Africa

The excitement is real... I finally made it!! I'm in Nigeria. One of my biggest dreams was to see my home, to see my family that I haven't seen for 28 years of my life.  I've lived 28 years and never been to Nigeria and I'm finally here with my mum and daughter.

Where do I begin?

Stepping into the heart of the hustle and bustle on the streets of Lagos creates more joy for me, the smell of the authentic food makes it all too real, the different languages spoken around me makes me want to join the conversations.

We walk happily through the busy streets and stand by to book an Uber to our first stop which is a hotel in Lekki, 5 star to be precise. I arrive and the welcome is so warm from the staff. I feel like I belong... They tell us all we need to know about our short stay and later on tell us about all the amazing things to do in Lagos and we get ourselves prepared to go after resting.

We call my uncle and we meet up with my auntie and cousins then we make our way to the shopping mall as our first stop to do some shopping as well as the kids having fun too… days go by and my cousins and I had visited the infamous Nike Art Gallery (what an inspiring location!)

Fast forward the days, we end up going to the village to meet the rest of family that I have never seen before and I'm so nervous but excited. When we arrive, they're already waiting in the compound to welcome us and I just feel the love when I arrive... I finally made it..but!

It was all a dream... I still haven't been to Nigeria.

Ohh how I wish to be on the busy streets of Nigeria...to be on the sandy white beaches of Seychelles..to feel the tropical warmth of Tanzania..to see the breathtaking plains of the animal kingdom in Kenya!
Ohh how I wish to feel the warm embrace of Africa!

I dream of the day I step foot into my home, the place that's been calling, the place that's been longing for my presence (at least, I think this). I've traveled to different countries but yet I haven't been to Africa. On social media, I've seen so many people enjoy the beauty of Africa in so many ways and I think to myself but I have also seen the negative reviews which has caused delays.. it’s going to change for sure because I’m set on living my best life in Africa!

I hope this post wasn’t boring but made you to understand that the more we delay in something that we should have done a long time ago it stays an only a dream.

Stay tuned for my next post where I’ll be sharing an exciting tip for your next travels ✈️

Keep creating your Sparkled Memories ✨💗
